What are the benefits of working with you rather than a therapist?
There are benefits to both! While the strategies and skills I use are based upon proven therapeutic techniques, I am not a licensed psychotherapist. As a coach, my interaction with you is more instructive than reflective. Together we will identify possible solutions to your issues rather than explore why you may have challenges employing those solutions, as you might do with a therapist. In short, I will teach you skills to improve your relationship and overall well-being and guide you in practicing them.
Another big difference between myself and a therapist is that my clients and I share lived experience. I’ve been there and I get it. I intimately understand the sadness, stress and challenges you face. I can also attest to the fact that there is a way forward. I use this experience to connect to, support, and inspire others.
My loved one is not in treatment. How can I get them to see they need help?
Our focus is on what you can control, not “fixing “or getting someone to do something. While that might seem like a good solution, it rarely works; no one truly changes unless they themselves are ready and willing to do that work.
The good news is that the work you do will help both you and your loved one, regardless of whether or not they are in treatment. Managing mental illness is a family process. Everyone plays a role. Your work helps you and the entire family.
Where are sessions held?
Because I work with clients from all over, we meet via Zoom or on the phone – whichever is most comfortable for my client.
Give me the bottomline: What difference will this make in my life and my relationships?
There are many benefits! The major takeaways will likely be:

-
A better understanding of your loved one and why they act and react the way they do.
-
Knowing the best and most productive ways to communicate.
-
Acceptance – of your loved one, of yourself and the situation. This alone will part the clouds and allow you to find peace and joy within yourself and in the relationship.
Do you only work with people who have a loved one with a Borderline Personality Disorder or Bipolar diagnosis?
While I specialize in BPD, high emotional sensitivity and Bipolar, I also have great success working with people who have loved ones with other mental health challenges or who feel frustrated and depleted by their interactions with anyone in their life they find challenging or difficult.
The skills and approach I use don’t focus solely on your interactions. They also help build inner strength and peace – something you can bring to all your relationships!
What are your fees?
The cost for a 50-minute session is $135. In an effort to make this type of coaching accessible to those who may not be able afford the regular rate, I do have limited number of reduced-fee slots.

There is no charge for appointments cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice. For appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice or if you do not show for your appointment, you will be charged the full fee. Thank you for understanding.
All sessions will be held via phone or Zoom according to your preference.
